Lot Essay

Accompanied by a Patek Philippe Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch with diamond hour markers in 1953 and its subsequent sale on November 20th in 1956. Further accompanied by an associated presentation box.

Reference 2461, the wider version of the reference 425, was launched in 1950 and remained in production for approximately 15 years. A total number of around 500 watches were made in yellow gold and platinum, with a smaller number in pink gold.

The present example comes fresh to the market consigned by a relative of the original owner. While the watch has remained in their hands for many year, it was rarely worn and is shown in unmolested condition with the facets sharp and distinct. Additionally, the platinum marking and monogram are crisp. Along with the original platinum Patek Philippe buckle, this example is a must have for discriminating collections.
