Presumably stolen during transportation to Coburg.
Recovered by the Monuments Fine Arts and Archives Section, and transferred to the Munich Central Collecting Point, April 1947 (MCCP no. 43170).
Transferred as ‘heirless’ to Hugo Ruef, Munich on 8 March 1961.
Recovered by Joachim Fernau from the above (before the planned auction on 13-14 March 1961) and thence by descent.
Acquired from the above by the present owner.
