The present lot is a prime example of Roman Liška’s broad range of artistic production. Over the surface, a luminescent bright orange draps over the picture plane, with metal beaded chains slicing through creating new forms and spaces in the painting. By introducing these and other innovative materials into his practice the artist continues to contribute to the ongoing dialogue in recent contemporary art, re-imagining and expanding upon traditional notions of ‘painting’.
