George Grosz (1893-1959)
PROPERTY FROM THE COLLECTION OF MRS. RICHARD MORTIMER HAYS The following two lots were acquired by Mortimer Hays, a distinguished New York based lawyer, who befriended Grosz when the artist emigrated to America in 1933. He wrote the introduction to Sydney Baron’s One Whirl which was illustrated by Grosz in 1944.
