Lot Essay

With Wempe Warranty card dated 31 October 2002, original fitted and numbered presentation box and outer packaging.

The present watch is no. 7 of a limited edition of 25 examples in platinum. Consigned by its original owner it is furthermore preserved in very good overall condition.

The Fliegeruhr model was launched in 2001 in a limited edition of 25 examples in platinum, 125 in rhodium-plated silver and 150 in stainless steel to pay tribute to Wempe's pilot's watches made in the 1930s and 40s. Reminiscent of these legendary timepieces, it is fitted with a black dial with luminous indexes, a large case with a diameter of 44 mm. and an oversized crown. The ébauche of its movement is the robust and very reliable Unitas calibre 6498, finished by the master watchmakers of Wempe and given the designation CW 672. It is fitted with a hack feature, allowing to stop the second hand when the crown is pulled, hence permitting the setting of the time to the exact second.
