Lot Essay

The collector's seal comes from noted collector Xu Weida, a native of Shanghai. Born in 1945, he partook in the Shanghai Antique's market (previously the Shanghai Antiques and Curio Store), and apprenticed under Zhu Nianci and Xie Zhiliu, learning painting, calligraphy, authentication and collecting Chinese works.
