Lot Essay

Innocenti’s Paris sky sparkles with a veil of purple brushstrokes executed in the artist’s favoured pointillist technique. The palate is playful; the artist contrasts the purple tones of the painting with a shock of orange in the centre of the composition, drawing the eye to the central figures. The elegant subjects of this painting are elongated; the framing of the composition within two window panes neatly parallels the figure on the left with the long neck of the Eiffel tower on the right of the painting.
