Lot Essay

Autochthonous by Tony Oursler is part of a series of video installations featuring two human-scale dolls. In this work from 1995, the male figure is playing the subconscious of a woman who responds aggressively to his whispers, playing on the idea of subjectivity and the complexity of psychological disorders.
