Accompanied by an OMEGA Extract from the Archives confirming production of the present watch on 27 August 1971 and its subsequent delivery to Zambia.
The very rare telemeter bezel seen on the present watch is a feature that is particularly appealing. Used to measure the distance between the observer and a distant event according to the speed of sound, this bezel is in French which bears the kilometer version rather than the English version in miles. This French version began production in 1960 and is graduated from 1 to 19 km with main makers as dots whereas the English version (also produced from 1960) is graduated from 1 to 12 miles with main rectangular markers.
We are delighted to offer the present example with telemeter bezel as a highly desirable and unusual timepiece.
