Lot Essay

Accompanied by an OMEGA Extract from the Archives confirming delivery of the present watch on 17 September 1996 to Italy. Further accompanied by an 18k gold commemorative medal with the reproduction of the emblem of the Apollo-Soyuz mission on one side and with 20th Anniversary Apollo-Soyuz 1975 – 1995 124/200 inscription on the other side, an OMEGA International Warranty stamped by the Italian retailer Gioielleria Tranquilli, product literature, OMEGA 20th Anniversary Apollo-Soyuz fitted presentation box and outer packaging.

To commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the historical mission Apollo-Soyuz which occurred in 1975, OMEGA introduced a very limited series of 200 examples in celebration. The rare examples were produced in 18k yellow gold and made for the Italian market. The watch is undoubtedly striking with its circled subsidiary dials and hour markers made in yellow gold.

An example of a re-edition of the present watch is illustrated and described in OMEGA, A Journey Through Time by Marco Richon, 2007, p. 630.
