The Missions Collection was introduced in 1997 to commemorate the Speedmaster Professional's 40th anniversary with an exceptional series of 23 watches limited to 40 sets. Each set comprises of 22 watches with dials commemorating every NASA mission from 1965 to 1973. The 23rd watch is a Replica model in honour to the original 1957 Speedmaster reference CK2915. The series is presented in a suitcase protected with the same white fabric used in spacesuits. The present Missions Collection is numbered 01.

Each Speedmaster Professional watch in the special 40th anniversary series displays on its dial – at 9 o’clock – one of the official patches from NASA’s first manned space missions, from the March 1965 Gemini Titan to the Skylas SL-4 mission of November 16, 1973. These colourful, richly decorated patches relate the exceptional adventure of space exploration in which the Speedmaster Professional was greatly involved.

OMEGA produced another 10 sets for non-commercial use, 5 for "Epreuves d'Artiste", back engraved E.A., mission name and numbered 1/5 to 5/5; and 5 for "Hors commerce", back engraved H.C., mission name and numbered I/V to V/V.

The present watch collection is illustrated and described in OMEGA, A Journey Through Time by Marco Richon, 2007, p. 634-635.
