In the form of a folded sensu [fan], decorated in gold, silver and black hiramaki-e, takamaki-e and kirikane on a black ground with open and closed fans depicting various designs including a couple in a boat beneath pine and tachibana, a figure on the back of an ox, bamboo and geometric patterns, opening to reveal the interior in dense nashiji, an inkstone with indented corners, a brush, the water dropper decorated in various coloured cloisonné enamels, the inkstick depicting a bridge over stream beneath willow tree, the base in sparse nashiji, a silver knop in the form of a chrysanthemum flowerhead, with silk bag and wood box
