The Chronometerwerke Hamburg was founded by German shipbuilders in 1905 and Herbert Wempe acquired the company in 1938. The present watch is number 20 of a limited edition of 30 examples made to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Wempe Chronometerwerke in 2005.
