Lot Essay

Richard L. Scott, Ceramics from the House of Amphora 1890-1915, Ohio, 2004, p. 98 cat. 129 and 130 for two others. The fish was inspired by a lithograph, published in 1895 by Gerlach & Schenk, Vienna, illustrated in Scott's book, p. 99 cat. 131 (Bell Collection, Cat. No. 9986) and was shown at the Turin Exhibition of 1902.
