Lot Essay

Like the light which heightens form in Vermeer interiors, each surface in Brâncuși's studio comes to life. In this place -- light, space, and form are one. Thoughts are alike and interchangeable. Distinctions between architecture, furniture and object, base and sculpture dissolve. Everything in the studio is suffused in the glow of Brâncuși's love and strength.
