A black lacquered exotic helmet, the crown rising to the crest of a wave, wakidate (side crests) in the form of clam shells lacquered black on the outside and gold in the inside, the mabisashi (brim) embossed with eyebrows and a wrinkled forehead, a four tier shikoro (neck guard), fukigaeshi (turned back portions) with gold lacquer mukae - hiiragi (holly leaf) mon (badges)
