Wassily Kandinsky dedicated this print to Emma "Galka" Scheyer (1889-1945), who was a German-American painter, art teacher, collector, and dealer. Scheyer played a significant role in promoting the work of the "Blue Four," an artist group that consisted of Wassily Kandinsky, Lyonel Feininger, Paul Klee, and Alexej Jawlensky.
