Lot Essay

Established in 1891, watchmaking company Angelus is best renowned for its production from the first half of the 19th century. Since WWI, it gained widespread recognition to the point of being the manufacturer of the 8-days movements of some 1930s military Panerai watches. The Chronodato, launched in 1943, is a wonderful example of this remarkable company. The present specimen, offered in extremely attractive condition, charms the most seasoned of the collectors with its highly appealing and unusual two-tone black dial.
