The present work is a heightened study for the back cover of Toros y Toreros written by Louis Miguel Dominguín and illustrated by Pablo Picasso, published in 1961.
This work has also been represented in Federico García Lorca' book Chants funèbres pour Ignacio Sánchez Mejías, published in 1976.
