The consignor of this lot has notified Christie’s that they intend to donate 100% of the proceeds of sale received by them to the Germination Project through The Pamela and Ajay Raju Foundation, a not-for profit charity. Please note that a buyer who purchases this lot will not be eligible for any charitable contribution deduction in relation to such purchase.
The title for this sculpture is Untitled (Shrine at the Rock), the work is signed and numbered ‘RIMZON 9/9’ on the lower edge. The medium is bronze and the correct dimensions are 10¾ x 13 x 13 in. (27.3 x 33 x 33 cm.). The work was executed circa 2000s and is number nine from an edition of nine. Another work from this edition was exhibited in Mumbai at the Guild Art Gallery in the show N.N. Rimzon, Sculptures and Drawings in 2008. Furthermore, the work is formerly from the Guild Art Gallery, Mumbai, then in a private collection in Mumbai from which it was acquired by the present owner in 2015.
