Lot Essay

According to the Omega Archives, the present watch was completed on 24th August 1970 and delivered to the United States.

The reference 145022-69 ST is the last model of the Pre-Moon watches where the caseback makes no reference to the moon landing. Although conceived before the event it did in fact not go on sale until five months later, in December 1969.

The reference is also notable in being the first model fitted with the new dial type with painted OMEGA symbol in place of the previous applied symbol.
