Lot Essay

The watch offered for sale here is a superb and rare example of reference 2508 featuring an unspoiled dial that beautifully aged over the years and fade into a delicate patina. It is very rare to come across a such well preserved timepiece and this watch is a beautiful opportunity for scholars to admire an untouched dial with intact printing, sharp register edges and spotless guilloché details.

Different versions of reference 2508 are described and illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, p. 80-91.
