Lot Essay

The reference 6036 offered here for sale is a spectacular example from the exceedingly small series of the iconic "Dato Compax" cased in pink gold to appear in public to date. Known to have been made predominantly in stainless steel and yellow good, original and unspoiled examples of this milestone model in pink gold are extremely rare. In fact, the present reference 6036 is distinguished by its beautiful, original two-tone silvered dial, and the astoundingly crisp and unpolished case. In fact, both dial and case have accumulated an impressively even level of oxidation, a typical sign for watches which have not been used in a very long time. The connoisseur can consequently easily connect the extraordinarily original and unmolested condition with the fact that the present watch has been a "sleeping beauty" for many decades. Furthermore, the gold mark underneath the lower right lug is crisp and the calendar correctors in the band seem hardly used.

Without a doubt, the Dato-Compax offered here for sale presents all criteria indispensable for the coveted designation "ultimate collector's watch": freshness to the market, private provenance and last but not least outstanding, original overall condition

Reference 6036
Reference 6036, the third generation of the celebrated "Dato Compax" Oyster triple calendar chronograph model ever presented by Geneva's "crowned" watch manufacturer, was available with various dial layouts, cased mainly in yellow gold and in stainless steel.
