Presented in “as new” condition with almost no signs of use, this Explorer reference 14270 still retains the original Rolex green protective sticker on the case back. It is furthermore delivered complete with all its accessories.
In 1989, Rolex launched reference 14270, which incorporating numerous changes to the cherished Explorer, including a new case, dial, movement, sapphire crystal, only the hands remained the same. The new calibre 3000 movement has a higher beat and greater shock resistance.
Although differing significantly from the vintage ref. 1016, ref. 14270 represents the perfect blending of modern features yet still maintaining the history which made the Explorer so popular. Ref. 14270 was produced until around 2001 when it was replaced by ref. 114270.
