CASE: 18K gold, circular, snap on back, all hinged within the 18K gold Estados Unidos Mexicanos coin with an eagle holding a snake in its beak to the cover, reversed with the effigy of an angel and inscription 37.5 Gr. Oro Puro, 1821 - 1947, hinged cover opened by depressing a concealed thumbpiece in the band, with engraved motto Independencia y Libertad, 37 mm. diam.
SIGNED: case, dial and movement
ACCOMPANIED BY: Patek Philippe letter dated 15 November 1985 stating that the watch was sold in 1957 to Eberhard. The Extract from the Archives confirms production of the present Mexican Peso gold coin watch with Breguet numerals in 1955 and its subsequent sale on 13 June 1957.

Lot Essay

The present watch is part of a small series of gold coin watches, given reference numbers 800 to 809, using different coins such as
US$5 (ref. 800), US$10 (ref. 801), US$20 (ref. 802 & 803), CHF100 (ref. 804), Pesos 50 (ref. 805) and others. No other coin watches were since made by Patek Philippe.

It is preserved in very good overall condition and believed to be one of only four examples of a reference 805 to have appeared in public to date.
