MOVEMENT: manual, cal. 72C, 17 jewels
DIAL: silvered matte, applied gold square-shaped numerals, outer blue date ring with central hand, two apertures for day and month in French, three engine-turned sunken subsidiary dials for constant seconds, 30 minute and 12 hours registers
CASE: 18K gold, tonneau-shaped, screw back, screw down crown, two round chronograph buttons in the band and two date corrector on the opposite side, 36 mm. diam.
SIGNED: case, dial and movement
BUCKLE: gold plated Rolex buckle

Lot Essay

Reference 6036, the third generation of the celebrated "Dato Compax" Oyster triple calendar chronograph model ever presented by Geneva's "crowned" watch manufacturer, was available with various dial layouts, cased mainly in yellow gold and in stainless steel.

Various examples of reference 6036 are described and illustrated in I Cronografi Rolex - La Leggenda, Pucci Papaleo Editore, pp. 380 - 401.
