Lot Essay

The white gold Ref. 1601 Datejust is a rare find in today’s market, far fewer examples were made in white gold than in either yellow gold or steel. The present watch is an excellent original specimen which will appeal to the collector or Rolex aficionado due to the untouched and unrestored dial, the overall excellent state of preservation and the very rare survival of the original numbered certificate and guarantee. To the best of our knowledge the present watch has never before been offered in public.
