NOTE :
Wu Meimei, also known as Xia Mei and Yi Mei, was born in Foshan City, Guangdong Province in Guangzhou. She is the sixth descendant of the famous scholar, connoisseur and collector Wu Rongguang (1773 – 1843) of the Qing dynasty. Wu Meimei started painting when she was young, and advanced with extraordinary speed under the guidance of her teacher Xie Zhiliu (1910 – 1997). Her paintings are acknowledged by masters such as Qi Gong (1912 – 2005) as a pioneering form of the classical style.
