Inspired by the great 19th century timepieces, the Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique Quantième Perpétuel Model is equipped with Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Calibre 985 automatic winding movement featuring a “flying” cylindrical tourbillon. The tourbillon, equipped with a cylindrical balance spring, creates an impression of levitation and is seemingly floating in mid-air at the centre of the movement. A reminder of the Manufacturer’s illustrious heritage, the 22k engraved gold rotor is a replicate of the gold medal that Jaeger-LeCoultre won at the 1889 Paris Universal Exposition which honoured the house’s horological expertise and its spirit of invention. In addition, the watch also features the security zone indication aperture just above the centre hands, warning the wearer not to make adjustments between 8 pm and 4 am so as to avoid damaging the perpetual calendar mechanism.
