Since its inception in 2005, MB&F is well known for uniting traditional watchmaking of the highest craftsmanship with futuristic and highly unconventional designs. Heavily influenced by the founder Maximilian Büsser’s childhood vision of a science fiction world, these “Machines” continues to challenge the world of watchmaking with each new release. When MB&F presented their Legacy Machine No. 1/ LM1 in 2011, watch collectors were most surprised by the new creation; unlike the previous timepieces, this watch was given MB&F’s very first classical round case! With Maximilian Büsser joining forces with Jean-François Mojon and Kari Voutilainen, the concept behind LM1 was to imagine the type of timepiece they would have created had the company existed 100 years ago, thus paying tribute to horological traditions of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Lot Essay

In 2014, MB&F introduced Legacy Machine No. 101/LM101 to the market. The new model with its smaller 40 mm. diameter case, boasts the same floating balance wheel and three-dimensional layering of the dial of LM1. The watch’s originality actually lies in its embodiment of simplicity and the creators’ wish to reduce the wristwatch to its bare essentials of balance wheel and time display. In fact, the most special feature this model is invisible: it houses an entirely new caliber, the movement developed entirely in-house by MB&F.
