DIAL: Black gloss, gilt print, luminous dot and baton numerals, luminous Mercedes hands, sweep centre seconds
CASE: Stainless steel, screw down back engraved 5513 and I 65 inside, screw down crown, rotating black bezel, 39 mm. diam.
BRACELET/CLASP: Stainless steel Rolex Oyster rivet link bracelet, clasp stamped 4 62, overall length approx. 175 mm.

Lot Essay

While the vast majority of reference 5513 Rolex Submariners feature a matte black dial, early examples were produced with attract gloss black dial and gilt printing, which over time can age in various ways. The example offered here retains its original dial, which has acquired a crazed pattern to the surface over the years.
