Lot Essay

A woman figure facing upward with a modest and honest expression is embraced with bliss, joy and happiness. Li Chen emphasizes the common character of both classical and contemporary Chinese female by presenting her in a well-round, full body build. The cloud resting on the back of her head is like a shower cap or a pillow, or even an abstract face in Li's surrealistic interpretation.
