Lot Essay

Collectors of rare vintage chronographs have been drawn to the beauty of the crisp 38mm cases thought to have been made by the firm Charles Rene Spillmann from the 1940s, such as with the present watch. These cases are noted for the large size with beveled edges between the case and lugs, and given their age, they often have been polished and have dials and hands with wear. The present watch is a time-capsule example that retains an unpolished case and a dial and hands in spectacular condition. Offered without reserve, it will surely bring the next owner incredible joy.
