Lot Essay

According to the Archives of OMEGA SA, the present watch was produced July 18, 1961 and delivered to the Peruvian Air Forces (Fuerza Aérea del Perú or “FAP”) with “the special military engraving “FAP” on the outside case back.”

The present watch is a remarkable opportunity to purchase a military-issued Speedmaster of one of the most desirable references: the 2998. Very few FAP-issued Speedmasters are known to the market today and they are highly prized by collectors.
