Lot Essay

A fine example of a ‘Chronometro Gondolo’ this watch features the typical large Gondolo special request 20’’’ caliber gold wheel train, large balance wheel, and mustache lever escapement. Furthermore, it is cased in an openface silver case, an option quite rare at the time. The hinges are crisp and the engine-turning on the caseback fully preserved, this watch is a museum quality timepiece to be treasured by the next owner.
