Paul Busch went to Berlin in 1910 to study art. Herwarth Walden showed the present work in a group show in his gallery Der Sturm in 1919 and staged Paul Busch’s first solo exhibition in 1921. When the gallery held their famous artist’s balls, Busch designed colourful posters and decorations in a cubist style. Today, the Berlinische Galerie in Berlin holds a few sketchbooks from the 1920s in their collection, with watercolours and drawings of caricatures, street scenes and little stories in pictures.
