Tiroler Bäuerin is one of Alfons Walde’s most popular motifs. In the present work, the artist has given her the entire picture plane in this large format work. In her traditional costume he has placed the farmer’s wife at a dramatic angle and with a striking silhouette. Walde catches her in a spontaneous and lively moment, the hat band flowing energetically behind her, giving the composition a great dynamic.
