Dedicated to Zhang Yuquan (Zhang Qigan, 1859-1946)
Note:
The recipient of the calligraphy is Zhang Qigan (1859-1946). A native of Dongguan of Guangdong province, Zhang was an official and scholar in the late Qing dynasty. He passed the imperial examination in 1894 and served as minister of the Ministry of Education in Anhui province. After the revolution in 1911, he lived in Shanghai and focused on his research.
