NOTE:
The painting was previously in the collection of Tao Zaizhi. Tao Zaizhi (1915-1986), born in Hexian, Anhui Province, was a good friend of Lin Sanzhi (1896-1989) and became acquainted with Huang Binhong. He participated in the Liaoning-Shenyang Campaign serving under commander Zheng Dongguo. After the war, he returned to Hexian and studied under Huang Binhong, received paintings from the artist and later immigrated to Hong Kong.
