To celebrate Van Cleef & Arpels’ Centenary in 2006, the celebrated jeweller created the Poetic Complications series to showcase the technical prowess of their watchmakers as well as the excellent savoir-faire of their craftsmen. These exquisite timepieces invites the wearer to view time in a new and wondrous perspective of scenes enlivened with the grace of nature or dainty fairies or ballerinas. To achieve this poetic interpretation of time, a highly complicated movement “the Quantième de Saison” was exclusively developed for Van Cleef & Arpels. Coupled with painstakingly hand-painted enamelled disks adorned with an enchanting garden evolving with Autumn, Winter, Spring and Summer or a magical world of fairies, this new technical expertise turns the disk imperceptibly on a 365 day cycle, thus allowing the wearer to discover gradually a new enchanting landscape every day.
