Lot Essay

According to the Archives of Audemars Piguet, the present watch was manufactured in 1953 and sold to Asprey, London.

The present watch is an outstanding and unpolished example of a very rare time-only Audemars Piguet in steel. Made in very few examples, the large case and center seconds makes it reminiscent of a Patek Philippe reference 570. Furthermore, it was originally sold to the legendary London retailer Asprey. For those seeking to build outstanding collections, the present watch would be a wonderful addition.
