Lot Essay

The present watch is number 21 in a limited edition of 28 examples. The MuchMore models often depict different scenes that are executed with fine precision enamel. This example depicts a double scene; on the top half of the dial we see two Sumo wrestlers performing while being watched by a roaring crowd, the mediator is close by. The bottom half of the dial depicts a Buddha, sitting quietly in stark contrast to the wrestlers. He sits with flowers on a decorative checkered floor in front of finely painted drapery. The colors are vivid, engaging the wearer as well as offering a very unusual aesthetic.
