The Archives of Audemars Piguet confirm that the present highly complicated watch was made by special request as a unique piece in 2002 and sold in the U.S.
Offered in exceptional condition, this magnificent timepiece has been carefully preserved and treasured in an important private collection since its purchase.
The reference 25918 from the Jules Audemars Collection was manufactured between 1997 and 1999 and mainly sold between 1999 and 2000. Eleven pieces were made in white gold, five in pink gold and one unique piece in platinum – the present watch - sold in 2002.
An almost identical watch but with reference 12605PT was also made as a unique piece for the 125th anniversary of Audemars Piguet in 2000. That watch inspired the special request production of the present platinum watch in 2002 which is a unique piece in the Jules Audemars reference 25918 range, it is completed with a very similar dial to the reference 12605PT fitted by request especially for this watch. Therefore, two unique platinum watches were made with a similar aesthetic, the 125th anniversary watch as a unique piece and the present watch as a special request two years later.
