Lot Essay

Consigned by its original owner, the present reference 5070 has never been offered in public before and is part of the very first sequences produced in white gold.

Reference 5070
Reference 5070, Patek Philippe’s first chronograph-only model since decades, was launched in 1998. It was first produced exclusively in yellow gold which was replaced in 2001 by the white gold version. The pink gold variant was launched in 2003, platinum in 2008.

It is fitted with the calibre 27-70 movement, based on the Nouvelle Lemania ébauche especially developed for Patek Philippe.

With its case diameter of 42 mm. reference 5070 is, together with the Sky Moon Tourbillon ref. 5002 the largest watch in Patek Philippe’s production.
