Lot Essay

The property of an Important Private Collector, the present timepiece is offered in unworn condition. Part of the most impressive creations of the Chopard manufacture, the timepiece is crafted within a magnificent 18k white gold case of 42 mm. diameter and is set with a total of 452 diamonds and 23 sapphires. As stated on the Chopard Certificate of Origin, the diamond-setting can be decomposed as follows, with the dial set with 264 diamonds weighing 1.27 carats and 23 sapphires weighing 0.2 carats. The case is set with 178 diamonds weighing 22.41 carats and the buckle with 10 diamonds weighing 1.30 carats. Adding up to an impressive diamond weight of 24.98 carats, the importance of the timepiece is enhanced by the quality of the tourbillon movement visible through the aperture on the dial and stamped by the Geneva seal. Highest standard in watchmaking, movements bearing this prestigious seal are subject to rigorous assembly guidelines and tests and are deemed to take 30 to 40% more time to complete.
