Lot Essay

The eye of the connoisseur is immediately drawn to the beauty and exceptional original condition of this steel chronograph. A large diameter case of 37.5 mm, the perfect size for vintage watch collectors, combined with the wonderful multi-scale enamel dial with Breguet numerals, blue telemeter scale and red tachometer scale places this chronograph into the top league of vintage steel chronographs.

In 1930, Tissot and Omega merged to form the first Swiss watchmaking association, the SSIH (Société Suisse pour l’Industrie Horlogère). At this period the company’s watches were, like the present watch, signed Omega Watch Co. Tissot. Lemania, also a SSIH partner, supplied the movements, called caliber 33.3 by Omega.
