Lot Essay

The present watch is in mint condition, completely unused, still retaining the factory protecting seals on both the watch and clasp and the retail sales tags. This lot provides the perfect opportunity to obtain immediately this hard-to-get model.

Launched in 2015 to wide acclaim, the new 37 mm. “Everose” pink gold Yacht-Master reference 268655 and its 40 mm. counterpart the reference 116655 were an instant success and have ever since been very difficult to obtain.
“Everose” is Rolex’s own special gold alloy which does not fade over time. Aficionados also appreciate the matte black dial and matte Cerachrom black bezel which gives the watch a unique appearance rarely found on modern sports watches. To complement the overall style a new form of rubber bracelet called the “Oysterflex” with titanium-nickel alloy core was developed especially for this model.
Furthermore, the 37 mm. Yacht-Master model such as the present watch are fitted with a different movement caliber to the larger model, the caliber 2236 was launched in 2014 is the first movement to be fitted with the Rolex Syloxi (silicon) hairspring.
