Inscribed and signed, with two seals of the artist
Dedicated to Xinru
NOTE :
The recipient of this work is Kang Xinru (1890-1969). He was born in Mianyang, Sichuan Province and joined the Chinese Revolutionary League in his early years soon before he went to study in Waseda University in Japan. After his return to China, he founded the Sichuan branch of Chinese Republic League and joined the news industry. In 1922 he joined the American Oriental Banking Corporation in Sichuan and was appointed the chairman of Chongqing Banking Association before he became the chairman of the Chongqing Provisional Council. After the founding of the People’s Republic of China, he became a member of the Sichuan Political Consultative Conference and an executive member of the National Association of Industry and Commerce as well as the manager of the Chongqing Investment Corporation.
Each scroll measures 365 x 73 cm. (143 ¾ x 28 ¾ in.)
