MINES OF BURMA
The mines of Burma (Myanmar) have been known to produce exceptional rubies since at least the 16th century; particularly in the district of Mogok. They are also an important source of gemstones such as sapphires, spinels, topazes and peridots. In fact, almost every gemstone have been found there, with the exception of emeralds.
