Lot Essay

In 2001, Harry Winston launched The Opus Series, a creative new initiative designed to redesign time. By partnering with some of the most revered independent watchmakers, each Opus reflects a journey of collaboration and innovation, resulting in state-of-the-art timepieces.

The present Opus X is inspired by the planetary movements and replaces a traditionally fixed dial and watch hands with now time displayed as a system of rotating indicators mounted on a revolving frame. Presenting a new technical challenge, as the frame completes a full rotation, the dials of each indicator turn in the opposite direction, ensuring orientation remains constant in any position.

Futuristic, appealing and true to Harry Winston's technical innovation, this watch is crafted with the finest materials and the latest technologies are explored to create an innovative expression of time. In the tradition of the Opus series, the partnership on this series has been paired with the watch engineer Jean-Francois Mojon, resulting in a groundbreaking accomplishment that is the essence of the Opus Series.

The present watch is part of a limited series of 100 pieces only and is numbered 53.
